About this property

“MODERN HOUSE WITH SPECTACULAR VIEWS TO THE SANTANDER BAY”

Detached house located in front of the city of Santander, with spectacular views of the bay, is an independent plot of 1000m2. Located in the town of Pedreña, City Hall of Marina de Cudeyo.
The house has 180m2 distributed on two floors, in the first one there is a spacious living room of 40m2 with two sofas and 42 "TV seating area, dining table plus 25m2 terrace with chairs and sunbed. Terrace at the entrance with dining table. The full kitchen with oven and dishwasher. Iron room with washing machine and clothesline. Entrance hall and small toilet. On the second floor is the master bedroom with a double bed (180X200cm) with bathroom included in the room and a small dressing room, closet. There are two more rooms with two beds each (90X200cm) and another bathroom for these two rooms. It has WIFI.
It is furnished simply but very cozy, comfortable and pleasant for the holidays. It has plenty of light in all rooms and a large independent and fenced garden of 1000m2 arranged on terraces and a small hillside. The terrain is sloping. There is a table to eat in the street. Total privacy
On the ground floor is the garage for the car the entrance is in slope requires skill. 60m2 available. They have parking in front of the house or in the same garden.
The house began to be built in 1990. By the Architects Riancho & Herreros de Santander. It was finished in 1992. It is a new building. It is located in the Alto de Pedreña called Alto el Cristo. A quiet place all year round in July and August receives more influx of tourists and on the road to the beaches traffic increases and becomes more populous. We talk about a town but it is not an isolated area, it is very central. It is only 2km from the town hall of Ribamontan al Mar declared as the first Natural Reserve of Surf in Spain and Second in Europe. Pedreña is one of the typical coastal villages to taste the popular "Grilled Sardines" in both grills and "Rabas" (battered squid) quality fish in the two famous restaurants 200 meters from the house. We are three minutes walk from the Pedreña pier and 5 minutes from the Royal Pedreña Golf Club founded in 1928. 5 minutes from the Municipal Club of Golf de la Junquera, 5 minutes from the diving school and Marina de Pedreña marina and the CAN center of nautical activities with Kayak, motor boat rental, catamarans.
At 300 meters from the house you can access a bay beach, ideal for small children or older people, it has no danger. The practice of Wind Surfing is tradition if there is wind. We are 20 minutes by car from the city of Santander and 15 minutes by boat from the pier. You can go walking.
The house is located very close to 15 of the best beaches in northern Spain. They are spectacular beaches of fine white sand, some open, others collected, family beaches, nudists, wonderful coves hidden in beautiful cliffs. We recommend the traveler to know them all and leave all the information The bathroom in the Cantabrian is very healthy and recommended from the time of our great-grandparents with the famous "Baños de Ola" that enjoyed the wealthy classes and the kings at the beginning of the century in Santander . Our elders were right and it is an ideal therapy to calm stress, for circulation to the skin and colds. The temperature of the water colder than in the south and the massage of the waves improve circulation and promote relaxation and well-being both emotional and of the joints. Our advice is to bathe every day. You can also enjoy surf courses in the nearby town 5 minutes from the house, excellent walks and boat trips (daily service every 15m) to the city of Santander and the beach of Somo.
The house is delivered clean and collected. Equipped with new bedding and towels. It is ideal for four people. There are beds for 6 people.
We are 45 minutes from the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao on the A8. To the principality of Asturias in 2h on the A8. 15 minutes from the Botín art center.
20 minutes from the Nature Park of Cabárceno. Located in the western sector of the Natural Park of Peña Cabarga, it houses a huge fauna variety, both the native Iberian species of Cantabria (Bears, wolves, deer, chamois, etc.) and many others typical of Africa and Asia: Gorillas, lions, Tigers, giraffes, zebras, elephants, hippos, ostriches, hyenas, monkeys, etc. It is located in an old open pit iron mining mine, subject to a very interesting environmental recovery project. Recommended visit for children. We are not supporters of animals in captivity although in this environment the living space with large areas and the care of the animal is quite respected.
From the house there are excursions to know the coast and the mountainous region of the interior of the province. We leave information.
It is essential to visit the Caves of Altamira (the Neocueva) was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1985. In 2008, an extension was made to 17 other caves in Cantabria, the Basque Country and Asturias, calling the group «Cave of Altamira and Paleolithic Rock Art of Northern Spain» The paintings and engravings of the cave belong to the Magdalenian periods and Solutrense mainly and, some others, the Gravetiense and at the beginning of the Auriñaciense. The Altamira cave was used for several periods, adding 22,000 years of occupation, from about 35,000 to 13,000 years ago, when the main entrance of the cave was sealed by a landslide, all periods within the Paleolithic higher.
Visit the Natural Park of the Picos de Europa, (in Fuente De. I recommend getting on the Teleferico). By the Gorge of the Hermida to Potes and to eat there the typical Cocido Montañes or the Cocido Lebaniego. The Natural Park of Saja -Besaya with the beautiful forests of Beech (Fagus Silvatica) well preserved and the

a little corner of paradise
The house is beautiful, spacious and modern with an up to date kitchen, and the garden is gorgeous, even more so than the pictures show. Although Pedrena is a small town, it has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Two restaurants in Pedrena serve excellent fresh fish. It's fun to take the ferry into Santander for sightseeing or to watch the commercial shipping traffic in and out of the port. In short, wonderful. Emilia is a superb host, and she was helpful and supportive when we had to leave unexpectedly due to a family emergency. A 10-star experience!

Great Out of the Way Stay
What a lovely home situated in an ideal location. A short walk to the ferry to go to Somo for the beach or Santander. A restaurant at the bottom of the hill where you can order a generous potion of paella to-go to enjoy back “home”. Plenty of room for our family of five. The kids loved the simplicity of the beach at the bottom of the hill as well at the end of the day. Emilia was really good and responsive. She had a list of places to check out and messaged to make sure all was well. It definetly surpassed my expectations.

Beautiful home in Pedrena!
We had a great stay in Pedrena at this wonderful home! Views across the bay to Santander, the mountains and sunsets were stunning. Check in and out was very easy, great wi-fi, and all the conveniences of home. The ferry to Santander is very convenient and there are many beautiful beaches just a short drive away. Ww would love to come back!

Amazing base of operations.
The care and attention paid to this property make you feel at home. Easy access, close to everything you want to do (Altamira, Guggenheim, Santander proper). What isn’t mentioned in the listing is the high quality cookware, Yamaha upright piano, huge library of art books and literature (Spanish), Denon stereo with giant classical music collection, daily fresh artisanal bread delivery, and ease of walking to the fish fruit and meat stores. Views of Santander across the bay are spectacular especially at night. Host is local and very available for recommendations. Next time we are in the area will definitely be looking for this place again. True 5 star experience.

Paradise in Pedrena
Emily is a sweet, sweet hostess! She is very engaged with making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay in Pedrena perfect! By everything, I mean everything....from local insights, to bringing us Sobaos which are only sold in Santander to offering us fresh broccoli, cabbage and Swiss chard from her garden. She even texted us to make sure we knew about the time change in Spain during our stay. Her home is super comfy. Beds and linens are top notch, kitchen is fully stocked with everything a chef needs and her front deck is the perfect place for sunrises, sunsets and gazing at the Picos de Europa across the bay. We loved that we could walk and take the ferry into Santander. Definitely visit the Centro Botin Center and rent bikes and ride the coastal trail up to the Palacio de la Magdalena....breath-taking!! We also visited the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and Cabarceno (1900 acres of naturalized space reclaimed from former open-pit mines.) The primitive beauty of the karst landscape with large open enclosures you view from Gondolas is super cool and worth your time. Look no further, this is the place to rent if you want to explore the Cantabria region.

Why they chose this property

I always dreamed to build a house with my partner and we shared this dream. Our parents were born here and fell in love with this land have always lived near the sea and was one of my priorities. This land never disappointed. Every day there is a new landscape in a different light a sunset a wind or a cloud full moon reflected in the sea. It has the advantage of the village near the town and beaches. The best is the lounge to read and play piano work and dream of the landscape. And today renewing the garden. The whole house is made with much effort and attention, it lacks some details that we add each year. It is not a luxurious house. But it's very nice. The best sunbathing in the garden and ask prepared to take home in the bars nearby "sardines" a la plancha or typical "rabas" area buy a beer or a good Spanish wine and food enjoyed on the terrace.

What makes this property unique

It is not a luxurious house. It is really nice.
The best is the room to read, play, work and enjoy the scenery. Here we have made many meetings of artists. And I'm renovating the garden for the third time, this will be the final change. The whole house is made with great effort and care. Every year we add improvements and details.
It is a home to enjoy it in all things that brings as its good location, close to everything, lots of light, without being too big is comfortable, well equipped, new television, private garden and cleaning.
It is a safe place where you can wander in and out with confidence.
Cantabrian Sea baths are excellent health and mood baths huge wave of tradition since the beginning of the century are something spectacular on these beaches. Best early and bathe early in the morning when there are no people on the beaches and the water temperature is good.
